Referencing 1960's pop art and graphic design, the series builds a nostalgic environment through the use of bright, both warm and cool colors, which evoke a day to night experience.
Inspired by Jeremy Booth's art style, the illustrations depict the ambiguity of Dominican Republic, by exploring diverse sites and elements that are easy to associate with the country, like the tropical temperature or a scene of a beach. The series also possesses components and clues that a native could notice quicker, like how the frames and cushions are arranged to reflect the Dominican flag, or the Spanish influence portrayed through historical architecture, while also tackling other dark features and characteristics of the culture through bright and vibrant illustrations.
